Head of Commercial Manufacturing - Xenotransplantation

An innovative biotechnology company is redefining the future of organ transplantation through cutting-edge xenotransplantation. We are seeking a seasoned executive with a track record of leading complex, cross-functional programs in dynamic, science-driven environments. This role is central to our mission of delivering life-saving solutions for patients with organ failure by developing scalable, safe, and effective donor systems. As Head of Global Commercial Manufacturing, you will oversee and expand our international manufacturing footprint, with direct responsibility for building and scaling commercial pig production operations to support clinical and commercial milestones.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the strategic roadmap for global donor organism production to support clinical and commercial objectives
  • Lead the expansion of manufacturing infrastructure across domestic and international sites
  • Ensure continuity and scalability of donor supply chains, anticipating risks and aligning with corporate milestones
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to drive scenario planning and resource allocation across the portfolio
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain top-tier talent to build a high-performing production team and foster a strong organizational culture
  • Partner with internal departments and external stakeholders including regulatory bodies, research institutions, and quality teams to ensure compliance and innovation
  • Champion operational excellence, quality assurance, and continuous improvement across all production activities

Qualifications

  • Minimum 20 years of experience in animal production or related industries, with at least 10 years in commercial-scale manufacturing
  • Strong foundation in veterinary science, animal husbandry, or biological production systems
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-disciplinary teams and navigating complex regulatory landscapes
  • Hands-on leadership style with a proactive, collaborative approach and high ethical standards
  • Willingness to travel 20–40% to operational sites across the U.S. and abroad
