About the Job
A fast-growing AI + Wetlab drug discovery company with huge market potential, based in Boston, MA, is seeking an innovative and highly motivated candidate to fill the position of Manager, Business Development.
The primary focus of this role is identifying and qualifying new business leads and opportunities, interpreting technical requirements, supporting technical writing, developing robust plans, creating winning proposals, and cultivating outstanding customer relationships to drive growth. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and data scientists to help advance disruptive technology for drug discovery and development.
The successful candidate will bring business development and marketing experience in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry. Prior experience with cell biology, organ-on-chip, organoid platforms, and/or AI-driven drug discovery is a plus.
Key Responsibilities

Lead business development efforts, including identifying and evaluating new opportunities for growth and collaboration.

Build and maintain a strong network of contacts to attract new clients and expand opportunities.

Conduct marketing research to identify opportunities and assess industry trends.

Oversee growth initiatives to ensure alignment with company objectives and market demands.

Develop sales projections and revenue forecasts in line with business goals.

Establish strategic partnerships to support long-term business plans.

Understand and effectively communicate the company’s value proposition and key differentiators to clients and collaborators.

Collaborate with R&D teams to identify areas for scientific collaboration and partnerships.

Negotiate and execute business development deals, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
Qualifications

MBA or PhD in Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline.

Minimum of 5 years of business development experience in biotechnology, CRO, or the pharmaceutical industry (additional experience will be valued).

Knowledge of disease modeling, organ-on-chip, organoid technologies, or AI-driven drug discovery is a plus.

Proven success in identifying and evaluating new business opportunities with a focus on strategic growth.

Experience representing an organization in high-stakes meetings with partners, investors, or collaborators.

The base salary expectation of this role is $150,000 annually and may vary based on experience. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, education, skills, and qualifications.
