Position Summary
The QC Specialist is responsible for verifying the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of content migrated between enterprise file-sharing and content management platforms. This role performs detailed quality checks to ensure documents, metadata, folder structures, permissions, and version histories are transferred accurately and meet established migration standards.
The QC Specialist partners closely with project leadership, technical teams, and business stakeholders to identify discrepancies, document findings, and support timely resolution of issues. This role is critical to maintaining data integrity and enabling a smooth transition to a new content management environment.
Job Responsibilities

Execute structured QC checks to verify successful migration of files, folders, and libraries against defined acceptance criteria

Validate document fidelity (file counts, sizes, checksums/hash values where available) to ensure no data loss or corruption

Confirm preservation of folder hierarchy, naming conventions, and file path integrity

Perform targeted sampling and reconciliation of high-risk or business-critical repositories

Verify accuracy and migration of key metadata fields (e.g., document owner, created/modified dates, custom attributes)

Log discrepancies (missing files, metadata mismatches, broken links, permission changes) with clear documentation and impact assessment

Partner with migration engineers and business stakeholders to triage and resolve issues through closure

Escalate systemic defects and blockers with supporting evidence (screenshots, reports, manifest comparisons)

Communicate verification results, risks, and go/no-go recommendations to project stakeholders
Qualifications

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.)

3–5 years of experience in data migration, content management, or digital platform quality control (e.g., SharePoint, Box, or other ECM systems) within biotech, CRO, or pharmaceutical environments

Strong understanding of content management systems including file structure, metadata, permissions, and version control

Demonstrated experience performing data verification or QC activities

Advanced Excel or similar analysis tool proficiency for comparing inventories, metadata, and migration outputs

Strong analytical and documentation skills with high attention to detail

Experience using issue tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps)

Strong communication skills with ability to present findings to technical and business stakeholders
