Description: This is a Supervisor Position

5 years of clinical experience as a Respiratory Therapist and 2 years of supervisor OR CHARGE experience. Adult and Level 3 NICU experience required

VA RT license required

Certifications required (BLS, etc): BLS, ACLS, NRP and CRT or RRT

Administers basic and advanced respiratory therapeutic interventions with high proficiency and without supervision.

Adapts staffing and resource allocation to maximize care and minimize problems/complications.
Ensures that equipment and supplies are ordered and maintained to provide all department services.
Conducts performance evaluations with coordination and approval from the Manager and/or Director.
Oversees daily workflow; rounds on the team and conducts one one-on-one meetings coordinated with the Manager and/or Director.
Manages team member performance using routine feedback and can give corrective action (e.g., verbal and or written progressive discipline if needed when coordinated with the Manager and/or Director.
As needed, the Respiratory Care Supervisor can process timecards and payroll corrections; and contributes to team member scheduling and time off approvals.
Participates in quality improvement projects and provides the team with timely coaching on decision-making, best practices, and performance.
Participates in interviewing and hiring of team members,

Coordinates, facilitates and monitors the training of new team members. As needed, RT supervisor can act as a primary trainer for new department procedures, onboarding, and cross-training.
Participates in safety reviews and analysis; ensures compliance of team with regulatory, compliance, and licensure requirements.
Oversees and audits the inspection and maintenance of assigned patient care areas.
Assists with record maintenance and auditing of department compliance.
Collaborates with colleagues and other leaders to solve interdepartmental issues.
Facilitates and empowers the team to work proactively and identify solutions to problems.
Supports and contributes to the implementation of departmental and organizational initiatives.
Is an advocate for team members by contributing to a positive and inclusive departmental culture and ensures safe, accurate, and efficient workflow performance.
Oversees and assists team members in an assigned functional area, which may include but not limited to, ensuring the team is meeting key deliverables and quality standards, addressing and resolving challenges, managing and tracking performance, and assisting in time management and scheduling; escalates issues to senior leaders as needed.
Supports additional projects and duties as assigned.
