Unit Fairmont Medical Center Skilled Nursing Unit LPN # of beds 30 currently running 16 and bumping to 22 max until November then bump again up to full at 30 CNA: Patient Ratios 1:8 CNAs 1:10 LPNs Required Certifications LPN, BLS, WV Cares Common diagnoses/Types of patients Deconditioned, FS, post surgery, falls, dialysis, CHF, Stroke Experience or 'Must have' skills IV, blood draws, medication administration, customer service, experience working as a LPN in hospital and or skilled nursing, EPIC knowledge preferred Job Duties: i.e. Blood Sugars, Insertion of Straight Catheter, EKGs, Insertion or Removal of IV's? blood sugars, insertion of catheters, IV removal, medication management, documentation skills, communication skills Charge Nurse/House Supervisor yes as needed Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) no block scheduling but preferred scheduling, shifts are 7a-7p and 7p-7a. Weekend Requirements yes every other weekend Holiday Requirements yes holiday groups Is there a call or standby requirement? no Floating Requirements no float but unit has 2 side and work both sides Scrub Color/Dress Code Royal Blue Unit/Department specific orientation Unit has a Nurse Preceptor to do unit specific education, If no EPIC knowledge then full day of EPIC training Additional Notes EPIC is documentation system and Omnicell is our pharmacy dispensing unit.
