INeuro Trauma ICU RN Start Date: 9/15 Shift: 3x12 Nights 1900-0730 Ratios: 1:2 Years of Experience REQ: 2 years experience preferred. Will consider 1 year if recently in a large facility. Epic Experience REQ? Recent Epic experience is required. First-Timers Accepted: No, Would prefer an experienced traveler with 2-3 prior completed assignments Weekend REQ: must be flexible, scheduled based on unit needs Certs REQ: BBLS, ACLS,, NIHSS are required. TNCC/TCAR,CCRN, CSC, SCRN and TCRN are preferred. Must have in hand before start date. Skills REQ: Previous Trauma experience. Interpretation and Management of dysrhythmias, Multi-system organ failure, Thermoregulation: hypothermia/hyperthermia, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath/intervention, IV insulin protocols, Chronic/Acute Renal failure, Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, PICC line management, Starting IVs, Continuous IV sedation, Emergency Medications, Procedural Sedation Administration, Titrate Cardiac drips, Titrate Vasoactive drips, Hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, Assist with management of BiPAP, Assist with management of CPAP, Assist with Chest Tube Insertion/Removal, Care of Ventilated Patient, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of ABGs, Suctioning (ETT, NT), Ventilator Management, Infection Prevention, Isolation Precautions/ Use of PPE, Surgical Wounds with drains/Wound Vac, and Temp pacers. Is on-call REQ? No Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Yes, Travelers float between CVICU and NTICU. PREFERRED: Nitric Oxide; REQUIRED: temp pacers. Any special procedure done on the unit? Insertion of Chest tubes, central lines, PICCS, bedside tracheostomy, Keo tube placement, IO insertion, Codes, Massive transfusion team, back up for Hospital Cardiac Arrest Team, intubation, and post cardiac arrest cooling catheter placement, Nitric Oxide, cardiac cooling pads, and removal of femoral and radial sheaths. Common Equipment: Pa Catheters, right and left Impellla, ventilators, Cheeta, CRRT, and IABP, and Zoll cooling catheter, and Artic Sun pads. Our ICU is very busy with a wide range of patient populations including medical, cardiac, neuro, trauma etc. Nursing care of patients with non-traumatic ICH, non-traumatic SAH, seizures, Management of BP abnormalities w/ parenteral vasoactive agents. Nursing care of patients with non-traumatic ICH, non-traumatic SAH, seizure, patients post tPA, thrombectomy, aneurysm coiling, carotid artery stenting and intra-cranial stenting. Management of blood pressure abnormalities with parenteral vasoactive agents.
