Description: The Nursing Assistant performs various patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary to address the personal need and comfort of patients in an environment that promotes dignity and healing.\nPerforms vital signs and activities of daily living as outlined on plan of care inclusive of ADL's. Assists on hourly rounding and documents care rendered per guidelines. Meets nutrition needs of patients as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures. Performs meal delivery sets up trays and adaptive equipment assists with feeding and distributes nourishments while honoring choices. Properly documents per policy protocol and procedure. Maintains patient comfort and safety as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures. Turns and positions patients provides skin care immediately answers call lights/alarms places mats positions low beds etc Assures rehabilitation needs are met as outlined in the care plan and in accordance with policy and procedures including ROM ambulation transfers proper body alignment and use of assistive devices. Documents rehab per guidelines.Identifies changes in patient physical and emotional status and reports changes promptly to nurse. Appropriately participates in shift changeover communication providing complete and relevant information about patients for which they provided cared.
\nMust demonstrate stronger interpersonal skills Computer literacy and customer serivce/patient-centered focus. Must possess a basic knowledge of healthcare and/or nursing assistant role.An entry level support role requiring basic skills

\nThe staff member must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed by pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric patient group.\nOccupational exposure to blood borne pathogens is reasonably anticipated. Required tasks involve a potential contact with blood body fluids or tissues.
