1. General job duties. Types of procedures required.
Provides high quality personal care to Skilled Nursing Home residents in a warm, supportive, and caring manner. Following the resident's care plan and to have a working awareness of state and federal regulations governed by CMS. This position assists residents with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and with transporting into and out of bed, wheelchairs, bathtubs, lifts, and using walkers and canes, etc. This position is also part of a team providing programs that promote physical well-being and relationships by involving residents in activities where they engage in meaningful person to person social interchange with other residents, family, friends and staff.

3. Required skills and minimum years of experience.
?This position assists residents with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and with transporting into and out of bed, wheelchairs, bathtubs, lifts, and using walkers and canes, etc. This position is also part of a team providing programs that promote physical well-being and relationships by involving residents in activities where they engage in meaningful person to person social interchange with other residents, family, friends and staff. Under direct supervision of a licensed RN, the CNAs will provide basic nursing care to patients and/or residents in accordance with the patient’s and/or resident’s assessment and treatment plan. In addition, they will support and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and/or residents. Incumbents will be assigned a specific home unit but may be floated to other areas for additional support when needed.
The CNA needs to be proficient in speaking English in order to accurately and effectively communicate with patients and/or residents. Patients include those from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, socio-economic standing, education, etc. Depending on the unit in which they are working, they may be required to learn specific skills necessary to provide the best care to patients and/or residents.
4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)
? Must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with laws in the State of Alaska.
? Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support certification.
? Must possess and maintain an Alaskan Food Workers Card.
5. Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)
Employee will not work alone and no on call. Shift is variable and weekends are required on a rotating basis
6. Floating to other units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)
Incumbents will be assigned a specific home unit but may be floated to other areas for additional support when needed.
