Overview
A clinical?stage biotechnology company is seeking a Senior Director of Business Development to lead strategic partnering efforts, with a primary focus on out?licensing R&D?stage programs. This role will drive partnership strategy, lead transactions end?to?end, and serve as a key interface between internal teams and external partners.

This role will drive partnership strategy, lead transactions end?to?end, and serve as a key interface between internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead out?licensing initiatives and advance strategic partnering opportunities across the pipeline.
- Develop business development materials, including non?confidential decks and outreach content.
- Identify, engage, and manage relationships with potential biotech and pharmaceutical partners.
- Lead cross?functional due diligence, coordinating scientific, clinical, regulatory, and commercial inputs.
- Structure, negotiate, and execute partnership agreements from initial outreach through deal close.
- Provide strategic recommendations on deal structures and partnering approaches.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends, competitive activity, and relevant transactions.
- Build and leverage a strong industry network to support partnership objectives.
- Collaborate with internal leadership to evaluate opportunities and align on priorities.
- Advanced degree in a life science discipline preferred (PhD, MD, or Master’s).
- 10+ years of business development experience in biotech or pharma.
- Proven track record leading licensing or strategic partnership transactions.
- Experience with siRNA therapeutics or cardiovascular/metabolic disease areas strongly preferred.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and project?management skills.
- Experience in corporate development, strategy, or competitive intelligence is a plus.
