Medical Director, Clinical Development (Neurology)

Waltham, MA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite/week)

Summary

A high-impact leadership opportunity within a dynamic clinical development team focused on advancing therapies for neurology and neuropsychiatric indications. This role offers broad visibility across the organization and involves strategic, operational, and scientific contributions to clinical programs from early to late stages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead protocol design and execution for early- and late-stage clinical trials in neurologic disorders
  • Serve as Global Clinical Lead across multiple programs, guiding clinical subteams
  • Author key clinical documents including protocols, study reports, regulatory filings, and publications
  • Provide medical oversight and monitoring of Phase 2 and Phase 3 trials in collaboration with CROs
  • Engage with senior leadership and contribute to cross-functional project teams
  • Shape clinical development strategy and asset prioritization
  • Represent the organization externally to clinical sites, KOLs, and advocacy groups
  • Partner with clinical operations to ensure timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met
  • Ensure SOPs align with industry standards and support effective clinical research
  • Build and maintain relationships with global investigators and thought leaders
  • Participate in advisory boards, investigator meetings, and major medical conferences
  • Support regulatory interactions (e.g., INDs, NDAs) and business development due diligence

Qualifications

  • MD with specialization in Psychiatry or Neurology; Board Certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Proven track record in early and late-stage drug development, including NCEs
  • Experience with global regulatory agencies and successful NDA/BLA submissions is a plus
  • Strong communication and presentation skills across internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to navigate complexity in a matrixed environment with strategic agility
  • Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and independent decision-making
  • Skilled in reviewing clinical and medical documentation with precision and timeliness
