Job Title: Cardiovascular Operating Room Technician
Job Summary:
Join our team as a Cardiovascular Operating Room Technician, where you'll play a crucial role in preparing the operating room for surgical procedures across all specialties. You'll assist in surgeries, anticipate surgeon needs, and provide care within established standards, working closely with patients and medical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in patient assessment and care plan development with the circulating nurse.
• Provide surgical care in line with operating room standards and AORN Standards of Care and Practice.
• Assist in room setup, patient transport, surgical site confirmation, pre•operative site preparation, case instrumentation, sterile field and specimen management, and room turnover.
• Steward hospital resources effectively, meeting productivity expectations and maintaining supply accuracy.
• Develop and maintain skills in all surgical specialties, completing assignments promptly and using time productively.
• Communicate professionally with colleagues, willingly accept assignments, and adapt positively to changes in medical care environment.
• Provide competent patient care by interpreting data accurately, making informed decisions, and adapting procedures based on age•specific growth and development.
• Maintain confidentiality as per HIPPA regulations and actively enhance job functions through personal and professional development.
• Support all medical center, departmental, and safety policies, proactively identifying safety concerns.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Additional Functions:
• Participate in unit•specific or hospital•wide committees as requested.
• Act as a preceptor and resource person.
